The property arm of one of New Zealand largest iwi, Ngāi Tahu, is a leader in New Zealand residential property development. However, until recently their footprint remained in the South Island. Their first foray into North Island development was therefore an important one. Not only for its significance from a business perspective, but from a brand perspective. Their first development in the Auckland region needed to project the values and story of Ngāi Tahu to a new audience.
The new development in Hobsonville Point is a joint project between Ngāi Tahu Property, NZ Super Fund and New Ground Capital. The project, known as Kerepeti, will see over 200 new homes developed.
Iceberg was tasked with developing the brand for Kerepeti. Although a name and symbol had already been agreed, iceberg created a whole visual language and design system that encapsulated the vision and values of Kerepeti. The concept, “Taking Shape” — a reference to the clay on which the development is built, was weaved throughout the communications. This included environmental graphics, website, brochures, digital and print advertising and signage.
Iceberg is proud to be partnering with Ngāi Tahu Property as Kerepeti continues to take shape.
“Our wish from the beginning was for Kerepeti to not be like every other housing development. It has a story that is underpinned by the values of Ngāi Tahu Property and our JV partners. From our very first meeting, iceberg understood this and helped us bring this story to life through various touchpoints including the visual identity, collateral and advertising. Working with iceberg has felt like a true partnership, they understood our vision and together we have delivered a project we can all be proud of.
